SGT Holly Jarvis

Mass Communication Noncommissioned Officer with the 70th Mobile Public Affairs Detachment

SGT Holly Jarvis is a Mass Communication Noncommissioned Officer with the 70th Mobile Public Affairs Detachment in the Missouri National Guard, capturing and sharing the stories of Missouri’s Citizen-Soldiers through photography, writing, and visual storytelling. She first enlisted in 2018 as an 88M Motor Transport Operator with the 1241st Transportation Company while earning a degree in business and marketing from the Missouri University of Science and Technology in Rolla, Missouri.

In 2023, Holly transitioned into full-time roles supporting statewide programs. She served as a Holistic Health and Fitness marketing specialist, creating logos and campaigns recognized by the National Guard Bureau and shared with other states. She later coordinated Yellow Ribbon events, helping more than 800 service members and families prepare for and reintegrate after deployments, earning her the Army Commendation Medal.

After transitioning from truck driver to public affairs, Holly attended the Defense Information School, where she earned the Best Storyteller Award for her work in multimedia storytelling. While remaining in her unit, she also supported the Missouri National Guard Public Affairs Office during a deployment, helping document training, missions, and the Soldiers behind them.

Outside the Guard, Holly works full time as the Midwest Storyteller for the National Wild Turkey Federation, producing content that highlights conservation efforts and the people protecting wildlife habitat and hunting traditions across the Midwest. She also runs her own photography business and volunteers as a photography and graphic design instructor with 4-H, helping youth develop creative skills and explore the outdoors.

Holly is also active with the Missouri National Guard Association as the Strategic Communications Coordinator, supporting the association through social media, photography, print materials, and other communications that highlight Missouri Guardsmen.

Whether capturing training, conservation work, or community programs, Holly enjoys using storytelling to shine a light on the people and partnerships making a difference.
